Excited and bear with us!

Dear London Area friends!

What a wonderful week the NLC was, and a highlight was meeting with you last Wednesday evening.  We are so excited about all God is stirring up in London, and calling us to explore with you.

Some important information for you, as Bev and I progress all this with you.  Please do read and action!!!

Facebook Group

Senior Pastors and other Church Staff, we have a facebook group and you are welcome to be part of that.  To be added, please contact kathrin.bentley@vineyardchurch.org.

London Area Web Site

The London Area web site is here: http://vineyardchurcheslondon.org

We will use this for all our churches and all your people to connect with us.  Please bookmark it and make sure you know where it is.  Also if you or anyone in your church people want to receive a newsletter with summaries from the site, please contact Kathrin Bentley to be added to that.

Bear with us: Ramp up

As you can imagine Bev and I have full time roles leading our own church through it’s own current growth.   The London Area has arrived as an explosion of work and exciting possibilities, which will take us time to attend to.

We have three churches exploring an adoptions process, churches that need planning for succession.  There is the development and integration of task force leaders, several potential church plants and the set up of support for the newest church plants.  Then there is planning and implementing training and resourcing for all the London Area churches.  Not to mention various sundry issues taking place in many of the London churches that we need to be involved in.

So Bev and I are working as hard as we can to plan, prioritise and progress all of these and more.  So bear with us, and if something is shouting at you that you need help with, do make contact with us.  We promise to respond to you and help all we can.

How can you help?

It has been so heartening to have so many of you ask how you can help.  And we will need your help to make London become the awesome area we think it can and should be.

1.  Prayer: please do pray for us.

2.  Team:  we are going to need to develop teams for all the things we want to do.  So please do volunteer, tell us about your best people who can help make London great.

3.  Money:  Whilst we get a small budget from VCUKI, all the things we want to do, to invest in growing healthy churches and planting great churches, will take more money.  Our church, and some of you have indicated already your desire to seed money into the London Area.  Can you pray and see if your budgets can contribute to all we are going to explore together, and let us know if you can help with this.

4.  Take part:  We have area days in the diary, please do come to those and bring as many of your people as you can.  These are key times to share, pray, input, update and dream together.

Much love, as ever,

Jason & Beverley

Christmas Prayer

Let the just rejoice,
for their justifier is born.
Let the sick and infirm rejoice,
For their saviour is born.
Let the captives rejoice,
For their Redeemer is born.
Let slaves rejoice,
for their Master is born.
Let free men rejoice,
For their Liberator is born.
Let All Christians rejoice,
For Jesus Christ is born.

Meeting at NLC

Dear London Area Pastors,

Bev and I are hosting an area meeting and meal during the NLC. We’d love to see you there, as we catch up on news, share what God is doing during the NLC, and talk about the year ahead as an area.

The meeting and buffet dinner will be on Wednesday 30th January 2013 from 5.30pm until 7pm, at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Nottingham (http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/gb/en/nottingham/notuk/hoteldetail).

In order to ensure we have enough food for everyone, can you let our PA Kathrin (kathrin.bentley@vineyardchurch.org) know by 7th January if you will be present with us, and who from your church team will be with you.

Much love, Jason & Bev

Vineyard Bible Reading Scheme

Dear all,

When you were here for the Pastors’ evening end of September, Chris and Maggie showed you the Vineyard Bible Reading Scheme which we would now like you to sell on to your church members.

It works like this: You as church buy it from us at £2.50 per copy - and sell it on at £3 per copy.

Please let me know how many you would like to purchase - at the moment we have 120 copies, so you’d rather be quick! :-) (but we can get more!)

Bev is happy to bring them to the Steve Nicholson day on 13th November at Riverside, so please let me know by Friday, 9th November how many you would like to have - and please don’t forget to bring your chequebooks! :-)

Thanks a lot!

A learning community to grow you and your church: review of Lead Academy

jasonclark:

My wife Bev and I just spent two days with the Lead Academy, with leaders from 6 different churches wanting to develop their churches.  I tweeted through out the 2 days about the content with #leadacademy.

It’s one of the best things I have been to for a very long time.  If you are looking for a learning community to develop yourself, your leaders and church, join one.

Here are for me, 10 ingredients that made it so rewarding, stimulating and helpful:

1.  Format: Fast paced, interactive, creative, and well timed.  Each session and each day whizzed by.  I engage so much in learning environments with my own research that I am easily bored.  It’s a long time since I was engaged in a learning process that moved at such a stimulating, and captivating pace that held my attention so fully.
